Who this policy covers
This policy explains how the Meowti-lingual Android app and this website handle information. Meowti-lingual is an independent language-learning product based in Ontario, Canada.

What stays on your device
Meowti-lingual does not require an account. The following information is stored locally:
- books, imported text, generated stories, lessons, songs, and playlists;
- saved vocabulary, sentences, translations, and reading progress;
- language, voice, playback, and app preferences;
- downloaded dictionary data and local dictionary-coverage records.
Individual dictionary lookups are normally handled on your device. Local dictionary-coverage records are not uploaded to us.
When text leaves your device
AI features
AI features are optional. When you deliberately use one, the text needed for that request is sent over an encrypted connection to Meowti-lingual's server and then to an AI service provider. Depending on the feature, this may include a tapped word, selected phrase, nearby sentence, reading text or a summary of it, pasted text, story instructions, or selected vocabulary with its saved sentence and meaning.
We use this information only to provide the requested result, protect the service from abuse, and keep it working. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
AI results are returned to your device. If you save a generated song, its audio and lyrics remain with your local app data.
Shared webpages
If you ask the app to open or import a webpage, your phone connects directly to that website. The website receives an ordinary request from your IP address and may return cookies that Android stores for the app and sends back if you visit that site again. Meowti-lingual does not route that webpage request through its own server. If you then choose AI translation, the imported text follows the AI process described above.
Clipboard-assisted prompts
The free Prompts tool copies a prompt to your system clipboard. When you return to the app, it may inspect multiline clipboard text to recognize an AI response you intend to paste back. That temporary candidate stays in memory unless you choose to use it.
Text-to-speech
Reader text is handed to the Android text-to-speech engine and voice you choose. Some voices work offline; others may send text to the voice provider over the internet. That processing is controlled by your selected Android speech service, not Meowti-lingual.
Technical information
Our server briefly uses IP-address information to limit excessive requests. Its hosting provider also creates ordinary request logs that may include an IP address, app or browser information, request time, URL, and response status. We do not attach a Meowti-lingual user ID to AI requests because the app has no user accounts.
Services we rely on
- Cloudflare delivers downloadable dictionary files and this website.
- Google Play and Android distribute the app and may handle device backups according to your Google settings.
- Google Gemini and Lyria process text for AI-powered language features and generate music for the song feature.
- OpenAI processes text for most AI writing features, such as stories, lessons, song lyrics, and translations.
- OpenRouter may route some dictionary, explanation, translation, and backup requests to DeepInfra, CoreWeave, or ModelRun. Those requests ask for zero-data-retention routing and deny provider data collection.
- Google Cloud Run and Cloud Logging host and protect our AI gateway.
Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy policy.
External and affiliate links
The Resources area contains links to other websites, including affiliate links. Meowti-lingual may receive a commission if you purchase through one of those links. The linked website receives the normal information your browser sends and applies its own privacy policy.
What we do not use
The app contains no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell personal information or build advertising profiles. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Storage, deletion, and backups
You can remove local content using the app's controls or by clearing the app's storage. Uninstalling the app removes local data from that device, subject to any Android backup you have enabled. Android may back up app data to your Google account when backup is enabled for the installed app version and in your Google settings. Meowti-lingual does not receive that backup.
We do not deliberately save the text of your AI requests in a Meowti-lingual database after returning the result. Technical and security records held by service providers follow their retention practices. Contact us if you have a privacy or deletion question.
Age and audience
Meowti-lingual is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This website
This website has no account, forms, advertising, or analytics. Its hosting providers may process ordinary network and security logs when you visit, such as your IP address, browser information, request time, and requested page.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the app's data practices change. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and, when appropriate, an in-app notice.
